Guided by Wisdom, Moved by Spirit
My Philosophy of Care
Birth is not just physical — it is a rite of passage, sacred and ancestral.
I honor the wisdom of the grand midwives before me while carrying forward modern midwifery training. My care blends experience-based practice (what truly works in the birth space) with evidence-based research. Families deserve both spirit and science, both tradition and skill.
Individualized Care
Every family, every pregnancy, every birth is unique, and my care reflects that.
No two births are the same. I take time to know you, your family, and your vision for birth. Each visit is intentional, spacious, and tailored to your needs. My role is to walk beside you, honoring your story while offering guidance grounded in compassion and skill.
A True Community Midwife
Close to home, fully present, serving families within 30 minutes.
I believe midwifery care should stay close to the families it serves. By limiting my practice to those within 30 minutes, I can remain available, responsive, and deeply connected. This is what it means to truly serve as a community midwife.
Herbal & Ancestral Support
Plants, rituals, and cultural traditions woven into care, honoring those who came before us.
Herbs are not extras. They are part of the rhythm of pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Alongside plant allies, I welcome ancestral practices, prayers, and rituals into care if you desire them. This marriage of tradition and skill keeps birth sacred.
Continuing Education
Always learning, always sharpening. Balancing tradition with evidence.
I am committed to growth. Every year, I attend advanced workshops, trainings, and certifications in breech, suturing, shoulder dystocia, lactation, and more. My learning is ongoing, ensuring that families receive care that is current, effective, and guided by both lived wisdom and science.
Passing the Knowledge Down
Honoring elders, pouring into the next generations of midwives, and carrying the responsibility of legacy midwifery forward.
I stand on the shoulders of those who poured into me. Just as they shared wisdom, I am committed to passing knowledge forward — mentoring learning midwives, teaching in community, and ensuring this sacred work continues for generations to come.

Audrey is truly a master of her craft. She is deeply knowledgeable and painstakingly detail oriented. Throughout both of my birth experiences with her, I felt as though I had a true teammate that cared about me mind, body, and baby. She helped me with my nutrition, getting in the right headspace, and answered all the millions of questions I had about childbirth. Her meetings were always thorough and left no stone unturned to the point where I felt like a true advocate for myself because I was equipped with all medical knowledge needed. Both of my births went as well as they could have because she was a part of the process and in the labor room with all the proper advice and maneuvering.

I had the pleasure of being cared for by Audrey during my water birth. She was my birth assistant and she was absolutely perfect for the job. Audrey is the calm during the storm, providing vital support, direction and peace. I cannot thank Audrey and my entire birth team enough for caring for me, listening to me and ensuring that my baby was brought safely into the world. If I had to choose a birth assistant again, I'd choose Audrey in a heartbeat.

Can I give 10 stars?!!! Audrey was my birth assistant when I had my daughter. I can't express how blessed I was to have her in the space with me. Audrey took the time leading up to the birth to talk with me, get to know me and my family, and prepare me physically, mentally and spiritually for the birth day! On that day, Audrey was more than a birth assistant. This phenomenal woman put the care in Care Team! Her presence in the space encouraged me and reminded me of what my body was created to do. BRING FORTH LIFE! Audrey was and is very thorough, smart and a safe space. She is the woman you want in the room during this sacred moment! Book with her already. You'll be happy and at peace that you did!

Five stars! Nothing less.
Thank you, Audrey, for your support and guidance as my friend and birth assistant. I knew I would get through it but having you made the experience elevate. You are truly doing exactly what you came here to do. Your communication was thorough; your confidence and reassurances were top tier. I couldn’t have asked you for more than what you gave me. If the only tools needed were your heart, your head, and your support, then, you came prepared. I am expecting to see more greatness from you and am excited to see your journey. Thank you for everything. -

I had the absolute privilege of having Audrey serve as the birth assistant for my home birth, and I cannot recommend her enough. Not only was she highly competent and professional, but her communication throughout was reassuring, encouraging, and helped keep me grounded and centered during such an important moment.
When a family member who was supposed to care for my toddler got delayed in traffic, Audrey went above and beyond—without hesitation—to help keep my little one occupied and calm so I could focus on labor, all whilst continuing to encourage me & my spouse and providing medical support to the midwife- she didn’t miss a beat. Once baby arrived Audrey assisted my husband in cleaning and preparing the placenta for a lotus birth. Lastly, she supported my breastfeeding journey and offered great advice when I experienced painful engorgement postpartum. She is incredibly knowledgeable in birth techniques and comfort measures, and it’s clear she truly cares for the moms and families she serves. Audrey is a gift to any birth team, and I’m so grateful she was part of mine. -

Giving birth can be simultaneously the most scary and beautiful experience a woman can go through in her life. That’s why it was so important for me to share my space with individuals who were knowledgeable, and made me feel safe while at the same time respected.
Audrey did just that. From the moment I reached out for my initial consultation I knew Audrey had a lot of experience but also provided a warm and friendly conversation so the information she gave me was well received.
Audrey supported my birth as a birthing assistant / midwife and even supported me with my lactation needs during and after birth. She provided resources for latch techniques and provided encouragement that my breastfeeding journey would get better and it indeed did.
I’m very happy that I had her support it make my experience a positive one.

The land - where tradition, spirit, and medicine first meet.
where the work begins
Before the tincture, before the bottle touches my hand, there is the land. Traditional midwifery begins not in a clinic, but in the soil — in the quiet fields where our grandmothers once gathered medicine with prayer on their lips. Harvesting cotton root is more than collection; it is ceremony, it is remembrance. Each pull from the earth is a call to the ancestors, a reminder that birthwork is tied to land, spirit, and community. This is where the story of healing begins.

Before we take, we honor — every plant is a teacher, every harvest a prayer.
asking permission
In traditional midwifery, nothing is taken without respect. Before we harvest, we pause, we listen, we ask permission from Mama Earth and her children. Cotton root is not just a tool; it is a living ally. By acknowledging its spirit, we keep the balance — giving thanks, offering prayer, and remembering that this work is sacred reciprocity. To honor the plant is to honor the families it will one day serve.

Cotton — the fruit of our harvest, carried with reverence.
the gift in our hands
Our hands tell the story of the harvest. Holding cotton pods fresh from the field is holding history, holding memory, holding the same medicine our foremothers once touched. In traditional midwifery, the harvest is not just about what we take — it’s about what we carry forward. These pods remind us that midwifery is woven with the land itself: every seed, every fiber, every root connecting us back to spirit, back to the ancestors, back to the source of all healing.

The harvest laid before us, rich with medicine and memory.
bringing the harvest home
Back at the birth cottage, the bounty is spread before us — roots, pods, and plants that carry more than their physical form. Each piece is both medicine and memory, a reminder of the midwives, healers, and ancestors who once gathered the same offerings from the land. In traditional midwifery, bringing the harvest home is more than preparation; it is continuation. It is how we keep the old ways alive while shaping care for the generations to come.

Separating cotton from pod — preparing root and bark for their next life as medicine.
sacred work
The work of midwifery is in the hands. As I separate cotton from its pods, I am also preparing the roots and bark to be dried — shaping them for the journey ahead. This process is slow, intentional, and sacred. Traditional midwifery is not just about catching babies; it is about tending every step of the cycle — from harvest, to preparation, to birth. In this way, we remember that the smallest acts of care — even peeling, cleaning, and drying — are medicine in motion.

memory, healing, and power reclaimed.
reclaiming what was taken
Holding the long stems after the harvest, I felt the weight of history in my hands. Cotton has carried both trauma and survival in our bloodlines — a crop that holds stories of enslavement, labor, and pain. But this day, in this field, we reclaimed it. We touched what once bound us and made it sacred again. Core memories were made, and old wounds were tended. This is traditional midwifery too — not just birth, but healing lineage, taking back what was taken, and transforming it into medicine for the generations to come.

From dried roots and bark to jars and spirit — the work becomes medicine.
the alchemy of midwifery
After the roots and bark are dried, the next step is preparation. On this day, jars and alcohol are set out with intention, each vessel becoming a bridge between earth and spirit. This is alchemy — the transformation of plant into medicine, of tradition into practice. In traditional midwifery, even the act of pouring liquid over roots carries prayer. It is a reminder that medicine-making is not just chemistry, but ceremony. Each jar holds not only tincture, but the memory of ancestors, the healing of land, and the promise of care for families yet to come.

What began in the field now rests in these jars — spirit, healing, and legacy preserved.
herbal medicine
Two jars, yet they carry so much more than liquid. In them is the field where we asked permission, the harvest where we laughed and prayed, the roots that dried in waiting, the ancestors who guided our hands, and the stories of our people. Holding this tincture is holding healing, holding reclamation, holding continuity. This is traditional midwifery — spirit, intuition, skill, and common sense, distilled and carried forward. Medicine for the body, memory for the soul, legacy for the generations to come.
